CYCLETOURS IN SWEDEN

 

Located between lake Mälaren and the Baltic coast south of Stock- holm, the county of Sörmland is the area where the Kingdom of Sweden once originated. Sörmland offers an exciting insight into Swedish culture with rock carvings, rune stones, castles and manor hauses.The fine scenery consists of a wonderful mixture of deep forests with large populations of elk and open countryside with typical red cottatges and farms. More than 1000 peaceful lakes and

a fantastic archipelago along the Baltic coast give you the chance to enjoy a bathe every day on your cycle trip.
As Sörmland is so close to Stock- holm, you can easily visit the capi- tal in connection with your cycle trip.


Cycle trails are chosen carefully with regard to the 
countryside and cultural aspects. The small volume of traffic makes them very suitable for cycling.

Overnight accomodation is available, ranging from small hotels to castles and manor houses from the 18th century with a high standard of comfort.

We arrange:

 1:  Tours comprising 3 - 9 cycling days with overnight accommodation in varying prices and  ranges.

  • 7-gears or 21-gears touringbike.
    ( collected and returned in Katrineholm).
    Price: 200 SEK/day or 900 SEK/week.

The Classic.Back

The tour starts and ends in Katrineholm and follows narrow roads and paths with very little or no motortraffic. The overnights are five times in earlier manorhouses and twice in older cultural houses nice rebuilded to comfortable hotels with first class service.
The nature is overwhelming and you can swim every day in the large numbers of lakes.
There are only small rises and no problem for people in normal condition.

Göta kanal is the most famous water way through Sweden from Kattegatt to the Baltic see. You are biking in a lovely , varied nature on the canalpath with its shadowing trees and green surroundings. The canal has an interesting traffic of holiday boats with happy crews from all over the world.
In the later half of the tour you are biking, almost quite alone, in a typical swedish nature,changing between small open areas with the lovely red farming houses and green forests.
And to that, spending the nights in old picturesque towns with old wooden houses, churches and castles.
